York has positioned itself as a year-round visitor attraction, welcoming circa eight million tourists per annum. Clifford's Tower is English Heritage's second highest income generator in the North, after Whitby Abbey, and attracts 150k visitors a year, making it amongst our top ten sites from a visitor volume perspective.
