Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Cambridgeshire County Council, represented by LGSS, seeking proposals for a contract titled "Further Competition from ESPO F/W 350 - Library RFID solutions." This initiative falls under the 'Software package and information systems' industry category and is located in the East of England, UK. The procurement stage is at the award phase, with the contract period running from 11th September 2017 to 10th September 2019. The awarded contract, valued at £249,950, was published on 18th October 2018, and covers the provision of self-service library technology to accommodate a growing population and library estate in the region.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses in the technology and library service sectors, particularly those providing RFID solutions and support services. Notice Title

Further Competition from ESPO F/W 350 - Library RFID solutions for Cambridgeshire County Council

Notice Description

A contract to secure the future provision of self-service issues, returns, renewals and payments over a new multi-year arrangement. We are seeking proposals to replace current equipment and to provide support for the refreshed estate. The initial contract period is to be two years with options to make two further annual extensions. The initial purchase will comprise 52 units to be located as shown in appendix A. A further two units are anticipated to be required in 'mid 2018' due to the refurbishment of Milton Road library, with further procurements to be decided at a later date. Cambridge has one of the fastest growing populations in the country and over the course of the next four years Cambridgeshire is likely to grow the library estate significantly as new settlements come on-stream. It is therefore important that the authority should be able to retain any negotiated discounted rates and to apply these to any future purchases that are made during the life of the contract.
