Summary of the contracting process

The Metropolitan Police Service (MOPAC) is inviting tenders for the procurement of calibration, inspection, and repair services for radiological detection and identification equipment. This procurement falls under the industry category of Radiation Monitors (CPV code 38341600) and Repair and Maintenance Services of Military Electronic Systems (CPV code 50660000). The contract will serve the London region in the United Kingdom. The tender is currently at the stage of invitation to tender, with key deadlines including the tender period ending on 19 August 2024 and the contract period starting on 23 September 2024 and ending on 22 September 2027. The procurement method is a restrictive procedure above the threshold, indicating a selective approach in the hiring process. The total value of the contract is £200,000 GBP.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in radiological and electronic maintenance services, particularly SMEs, as the procurement is targeted towards businesses with the capability to handle high-level, technical maintenance of radiological equipment used in critical operations. Companies that can provide annual calibration, as well as inspection and repair services, will find this opportunity particularly advantageous for scaling their operations within the public sector. The tender aligns well with those businesses equipped with expertise in handling sophisticated radiological detection tools, and, with the contract extending up to potentially 5 years, it offers a stable and long-term business growth opportunity.
