Notice Title
Invitation to Tender for the Provision of a Fire Extinguishing System for the Burn Hall testing enclosure at HSE's Science and Research Centre, Buxton SK17 9JN
Notice Description
The Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) Laboratory is Britain's leading industrial health and safety facility. The laboratory known as the HSE Science and Research Centre (SRC) supports HSE's mission to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled. SCOPE OF THE SERVICES REQUIRED * HSE Science Division (SD) Fire Safety Team undertakes Fire Testing of aerospace components in a separate enclosure within the Burn Hall facility. * Components are exposed to a defined test flame (either propane or liquid fuel, jet A1) for a set period and assessed on their response. * Components may be on fire at the end of the period. * We have identified an opportunity to increase our testing portfolio into components that may contain, hydraulic oil, fuel, or other flammable liquids under significant pressure (30- 150 bar). These present additional fire risks if they fail during testing * Thus, we have identified the need for a fire extinguishing system to counter this additional risk and invite bids from interested parties. A full, detailed specification can be found in the ITT document pack and can be downloaded from the In-Tend portal. Additional information: All tender documents are available via the HSE In-Tend supplier e-procurement portal. All responses and requests for clarification must be submitted via the portal. Registration is free of charge and can be completed via the following link: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/hse
