Summary of the contracting process

Norfolk County Council is initiating a tender for the operation of reuse shops at the new Norwich North and Norwich South Recycling Centres, scheduled to open in Autumn 2021. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with an engagement end date set for 1st December 2020. The project falls under the retail trade services industry category, specifically focusing on refuse recycling services, and is located in Norwich, East of England. Interested parties can register their interest by contacting the council before the deadline.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for charities and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) experienced in operating reuse shops within recycling centres. Those businesses capable of managing the resale of around 250 tonnes of reusable materials annually at each site will be well-positioned to compete. By engaging with Norfolk County Council during the planned informal discussions, potential bidders can gain insights into the council's requirements and potentially secure a contract that supports both their growth and sustainability initiatives.
