Summary of the contracting process

Cornwall Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Soft Market Test for Electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) installation framework and operating concession". This initiative is aimed at understanding market interest in a four-year framework for supplying and installing EV charge points across Cornwall, as well as an eight-year concession for management and maintenance. Key dates include an engagement end date set for 1st May 2021, with final written responses to the soft market test due by 30th April 2021. This project falls within the transport equipment industry category and is located in the South West region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in electric vehicle infrastructure and related services. Companies involved in the supply and installation of charge points, as well as those capable of managing and maintaining such infrastructure, would be well-suited to participate. Given the grant funding from the European Regional Development Fund for the installation, there is potential for future project call-offs and a mix of funding options, making this a lucrative opportunity for firms looking to expand their operations in the growing electric vehicle market.
