Notice Description

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting tenders for the supply and maintenance of a Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry System. The Biochemical Genetics Unit requires a Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) system to ensure reliable and robust analysis of clinical samples to ISO15189:2012 standards. The regional unit provides testing for the investigation of patients with suspected inherited metabolic disorders, and monitoring of known patients. Its current repertoire includes urine organic acid (qualitative organic acid profiling and quantitative analysis) and plasma very long chain fatty acid analyses. Urine vanillylmandelate and homovanillate analysis is also undertaken for the diagnosis and monitoring of neuroblastoma.
