Aim of the service To contribute toward minimisation of the risk of illness from preventable infectious diseases in service users across care homes, supported living and Extra Care accommodation, domiciliary care, Special Schools, nurseries, and vulnerable people's accommodation in Sheffield. Summary of what the service should include: The Sheffield CIPC service as specified in this document will provide specialist advice and support to the community-based organisations (detailed below) that provide health and social care services across the city including, but not limited to, residential and nursing care homes. The service will also support GP practices on IPC matters, though the portion of support for GP practices is funded by the ICB and is therefore excluded from this specification. The contribution to the service from SCC is intended to cover extended IPC provision for the following community care settings only: residential and nursing care homes domiciliary care supported living and Extra Care nurseries special schools children's homes places of supported accommodation for vulnerable people (including homeless and asylum seeker settings).
