Summary of the contracting process

The Home Office has completed the tender for the "Training Request for Proposal: Patrols Planning & Skills", classified under Administration, Defence and Social Security Services, as well as Education and Training Services. This training aims to equip participants with comprehensive patrol planning and operational skills. The tender was part of a selective procurement method involving a call-off from a framework agreement, with the contract valued at £200,000. The procurement stage is now at the award stage, with the award having been made to Sustainable Criminal Justice Solutions. The contract period is set from 30th September 2024 to 30th September 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in training services, particularly those focused on security, defence, and law enforcement training. Companies with expertise in developing detailed training programmes and operational skill development will find themselves well-suited to compete for similar contracts in the future. Though the contract was not aimed specifically at SMEs or VCSEs, larger training providers would benefit from visibility in delivering such critical training services, thereby enhancing their portfolio and opening avenues for further opportunities within public sector procurement.

Training Request for Proposal: Patrols Planning & Skills

Notice Description

The Patrol Planning course will enable participants to develop and prepare participants to plan both routine and targeted patrols. This course will provide and equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and expertise to be able to effectively plan patrols and operations across a range of standing environmental tasks and operating environments. Having completed the planning phase, participants will be able to issue orders and direction to subordinate units tasked with conducting patrols and operations. The Patrol Skills course will enhance operational units to be able to conduct both routine and deliberate operations that vary both in nature and in the operating environment in which they are conducted.
