Notice Description
The Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) is Britain's leading industrial health and safety facility. HSL supports HSE's mission to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled. BACKGROUND TO THE PROJECT For the calibration/validation of air sampling methods, sampler devices, sensors and the production of laboratory proficiency test samples, HSL requires the ability to produce stable standard particle atmospheres. OBJECTIVES Production of stable standard particle atmospheres with outputs of constant size and concentration. SPECIFICATION REQUIRED The requirements are for:- * Capability to produce carbonaceous nanoparticles in the range 20 nm - 200 nm based upon a spark discharge process with the ability to produce other metallic nanoparticles. * Mass flow of up to 10 mg/hour * Ability to produce nanoparticle output for at least 5 hours stable * Volume dilution output from generator (vendor to describe available options) ideally through use of mass flow controllers for precise dilution control Installation, Commissioning and Training. Tender to include itemised delivery, installation, and commissioning costs for the HSL Buxton site and provision of on-site training of 3-4 staff in the use of the new system. Warranty.
