Summary of the contracting process

The General Medical Council (GMC) is procuring survey services for their annual staff survey, titled "GMC Staff Survey". The survey aims to gather feedback from around 1,600 colleagues and measure employee engagement and inclusivity. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage and is open for interested businesses to participate. The tender deadline for submissions is set for November 2, 2022, with the contract period scheduled to start on December 5, 2022, and end on December 4, 2025. The locations for service delivery include regions across the United Kingdom such as Scotland, North West, Wales, Northern Ireland, and London. The industry category for this tender is survey services.

This tender by the GMC presents an opportunity for businesses specializing in survey design, conduction, and analysis services to compete for the contract. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to apply as the procurement process is suitable for them. Businesses interested in providing survey-related services and operating in the United Kingdom can leverage this opportunity for potential growth. By participating in this tender, organisations can contribute to enhancing the employee engagement and inclusivity measures at the GMC, aligning their services with the healthcare industry's need for comprehensive staff feedback mechanisms.

Notice Title

GMC Staff Survey

Notice Description

The GMC has conducted people surveys since 2009. We started an annual cycle of surveys in 2018. 86% of the GMC (over 1,300 colleagues) completed the people survey in 2022. We achieved a score of 74 out of 100 in the employee engagement index (EEI), which measures how positively colleagues respond to a set of key engagement questions. We introduced an inclusivity average index within our survey in 2020. The index is based on eight key questions in the survey and measures how included colleagues feel at the GMC. The index score for 2022 was 74%. The index results form part of our corporate objectives on inclusivity. We are looking to deliver the next survey to approximately 1,600 colleagues in late May/early June 2023.
