Notice Description

1. The objective of this Contract is to deliver a suite of Works on the Ilkley Moor upland site in South Pennines SAC/SPA. The aim of the Works is to retain and improve the blanket bog peat, restore hydrology, improve Natural Flood Management and increase biodiversity on the Site. 2. The Works comprise the following tasks: a. A full site walkover with a Nominated Officer from the Authority (MFFP) prior to work commencing. b. Supply and delivery of ALL Materials required to complete the Works, unless otherwise stated. c. Appropriate storage of Materials, as necessary. d. Forwarding of Materials and Equipment required to complete the Works to and within Works Sites e. Planning the Aerial Load Lifting Works, including marking out drop locations and working in collaboration with the Authorities Airlifting Contractor to deliver the works. f. Marshalling of Aerial Load Lifting site and materials drops sites g. Installation of Stone Dams into gullies h. Installation of Coir log dams into gullies/flushes i. Installation of Heather bale dams into gullies/flushes j. Installation of Timber Dams into gullies k. Installation of Footpath cross-drains, paving and aggregate path. l. Cutting of heather m. Cutting of bracken n. Tree planting (clough woodland) o. Sitka spruce removal p. Planting of Sphagnum Plug plants q. Removal of all Waste Materials from Sites. r. GIS files showing all completed works due within one week of the completion of the final works.
