Notice Title

Evaluation of 2018-19 SAS and Trust Grade Retention and Recruitment Strategies

Notice Description

Health Education England (HEE) requires an evaluation partner to evaluate the data submitted via the SAS and TG survey. The evaluation will identify benefits, innovative practice and capture any variation in local recruitment and retention strategies and good practice. The evaluation team will work with various stakeholders including the Project Team, HEE, Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM), various Trusts and experts who understand the operational complexities of the Emergency Department (ED) environment and have worked within the system to collect the necessary data. The project aims to identify if there are suitable recruitment and retention strategies that are applicable to individual trust contexts and a sustainable vision for the SAS and TG workforce across all Emergency Departments. Project aims include the development of a training needs analysis for the SAS and TG workforce and toolkit for sharing and implementation of good practice which may support a sustained change within UK emergency departments. Outputs from the evaluation will include peer-reviewed and public-facing publications, briefings for policy makers, trainees, trainers and executive boards.
