Summary of the contracting process

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Supplier Day," with the intention of developing a Digital Driving Licence (dDL) solution as per their Strategic Plan 2021-2024. The event will take place at the DVLA's main site in Swansea, Wales, on 20th and 21st June 2022, with a registration deadline set for 6th June 2022. This initiative will potentially lead to the opening of a contract for the development and implementation of dDL services later this year or early 2023, aligning with international standards for mobile driving licences. An engagement end date for interested suppliers has been established for 6th June 2022.

This supplier event presents an opportunity for businesses engaged in software programming and consultancy services to engage with the DVLA, gain insights into the project, and showcase their solutions. Companies that focus on digital technology, driving licence systems, and software development for government services would be particularly well-suited to compete. The DVLA aims to gather valuable market intelligence and innovative ideas to shape the future of the dDL, making this event a significant opportunity for business growth in the public sector.
