Summary of the contracting process

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is currently in the planning stage of the procurement process for an "Audio Edit and Playout System." Based in London, England, the BBC is preparing to re-procure a framework that covers audio, edit, and playout systems for its national, digital, and local radio stations, necessitated by the expiration of the current framework in 2019. Interested bidders are encouraged to participate in the Request for Information (RFI) process, with a key engagement end date set for 23rd February 2018. This procurement falls under the category of broadcast production equipment (CPV 32211000).

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in broadcast technology and audio production, particularly those capable of providing innovative solutions for audio, edit, and playout systems. Companies with experience in public sector contracts and understanding of compliance with UK and EU procurement legislation would be well-suited to compete. Engaging with this RFI could enhance businesses' visibility within the market and position them favourably as potential suppliers to the BBC.

Notice Title

Audio Edit and Playout System

Notice Description

The BBC has had a Pan-BBC framework for Audio, Edit & Playout (AE&P) systems since 2009 covering national radio stations, digital stations, the nations and local radio. This framework is due to expire in 2019 and the BBC needs to comply with UK and EU procurement legislation. There are a number of approaches that the BBC could adopt in order to be compliant and so BBC needs to determine the most appropriate re-procurement approach to adopt. In order to make that decision, the BBC is collecting information on the state of the market by issuing a Request For Information (RFI). Bidders who are interested in this project must complete the RFI supplied and upload to the Bravo portal by the date shown.
