Notice Description

The proposed project comprises a significant upgrade of the existing lift provision at the Worcester Museum and Art gallery located in Worcester City centre. The existing lift is a 1000 kg single ram indirect acting hydraulic passenger/goods lift that serves 4 levels designated Basement, Street, Ground and 1st floors. The lift has an open-through arrangement that serves the street to the rear and the remaining levels to the front. The works described in this specification comprise but are not limited to: Replacement of the existing control panel with a modern open protocol microprocessor utilising the latest technology. Replacement of the existing signalisation and shaft equipment including all associated wiring, trunking and conduit. Replacement of the existing hydraulic pump motor assembly including A3 compliance. Replacement of the existing hydraulic rams, rupture valves and all associated equipment. Replacement of the existing car buffers. Replacement of the existing car door operator assemblies including variable voltage variable frequency (VVVF) drive. Replacement of the complete landing entrance assemblies at all levels served. Replacement of the existing car doors. Replacement of the existing car guide shoes. Replacement of all landing control stations at all levels served. Replacement of the existing car enclosure. New full-height infra-red door detectors. Lift integration with building fire alarm. Upgrade of all motor room and shaft electrical equipment to current standards consisting of: - LED motor room lighting and emergency lighting (by client) - RCD motor room socket (by client) - LED shaft lighting with RCD pit socket - Lockable and fused main isolator (by client). - Consumer unit (by client). - Thermostatically controlled motor room heating (by client). Install engineers' pit and car-top controls. Complete removal of lift car interior and platform. New car interior shall measure at least 1200mm x 2100mm. SAFed testing of existing safety gear. Car Handrail to be located on COP side and be easily removable but secure when fitted. Provide optional costs for drapes to lift the car. The Council is using the e-procurement portal known as the Proactis Pro-Contract portal https://procontract.due-north.com to conduct this procurement exercise. To gain access to the procurement documents, bidders will need to register their company details at the above website. Once registered, bidders will be emailed a log-in and password which will allow them to gain access to the procurement documents. Bidders will need to search for the invitation under Worcester City Council and then electronically submit an expression of interest and follow the online instructions to view the procurement documents.
