Notice Title

Prior Information Notice (PIN) and Market Engagement for the Blended Learning Medical Degree, Health Education England - DN532776

Notice Description

Health Education England aims to commission Universities to create an innovative, accessible, blended-learning medical degree programme that will be available across England for prospective medical students. Although a blended-learning method of delivery is suitable for all medical training routes, it will be particularly relevant for the new medical apprenticeships. The programme aims to fully exploit innovation in digital and other technologies to provide a fully blended, interactive, and engaging programme that will meet the requirements the General Medical Council (NMC) has set for pre-registration medical programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to support the creation of a significantly different offer in medical education that will support the growth of a qualitatively different expert and professional workforce suited to the demands of 21st Century care and service. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. It is our intention to hold a market engagement event on the afternoon of Tues 13th April from 14:30 - 16:30, to discuss our plans and consult with parties interested in potentially bidding to deliver a blended learning medical degree programme. The event will take the form of an online presentation and discussion organised through MS Teams and will outline our current thinking, the anticipated procurement process, general discussion, and requests for information. The process will also provide an opportunity to network with others providing education and training in this field. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence from providers who may influence and inform the development of the final tender. Please RSVP by Friday 9th April 5pm with the name, title and contact details for attendees (a maximum of two attendees per organisation) to: Monique Thompson Project Support Officer - Blended Learning Innovation and Transformation E: blended.learning@hee.nhs.uk The commissioner reserves the right not to proceed with the Procurement, or any part thereof, or change the requirements as necessary at any time. It is the intention of the Authority that the procurement will be conducted as an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The ITT is expected to be published mid-May 2021. A separate advert will be released advising of this.
