Secure City Programme (SCP), WAN Communications Upgrade
Notice Description
In line with Secure City Programme (SCP), WAN communications there is the requirement for camera sites communications links to be upgraded (FY 22/23) and other sites (FY 23/24). These require 100Mb/s upload connections on 100Mb/s bearers. The larger sites (Southwark Bridge) (FY 22/23);Blackfriars Bridge (FY 23/24) will require 1Gb/s upload connections on 1Gb bearers. There will be a decommissioning of current circuits with replacement in order to realise benefits of SD-Wan over current legacy RS1000 analogue networks, such as monetary, scalability and control. During the IT Category Board, 10/09/2020, it was requested through the AOB that a further pilot was to be carried out within the next few months to show a single, unified solution providing secure, seamless connectivity to all locations and all cloud-based resources and applications. Through reviewing the market, it was realised that with Barracuda devices are the only device on the market at the moment that provide the required unified connectivity with BT/CoLT telco lines. This is still the case now in FY22/23 and Barracudas are used throughout the IT estate not just on Secure City We have received an 8% discount form Original suppliers passed from Barracuda to preferred supplier Fortem, where otherwise other suppliers would be 20% more expensive. On top of this we managed to secure cPS8,000 saving - 44 x T93 appliances with power supplies and 2Yr subs - 4 x T93 appliances to be kept as SPARES (No subs or PSU) - 10 x T200 appliances with 2Yr subs - 1 x T200 appliance to be kept as a SPARE (No subs) - 48 SFP cables for connections to Cameras
