Notice Description
The MOD would like to better understand the current landscape for recycling, regenerating, or repurposing of Soft Armour. 1. How does your business recycle, regenerate, or repurpose soft armour? Including all components/raw materials and what are the final products you produce? 2. If your business does not make final products, please indicate, and provide details on the various companies you sell to and what they use it for? 3. The specific grade/composition of material produced, post recycling/regeneration/re-purposing, and how this is determined (i.e., testing methodology)? 4. The applicability of the recycling/regeneration/re-purposing process to other "high tenacity fibres", e.g., Aramids, Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP), Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP) etc? 5. Who do you currently do this for? 6. What is your businesses capacity both to hold and process soft armour? 7. What security measure do you undertake for holding this type of equipment and what process do you use to certify demilitarisation? 8. How does your business provide and sustain sustainability throughout? 9. At what value do you currently buy soft armour for? 10. Any other information you can provide on the cost of the process in terms of money and sustainability of the process?
