706109453 Handheld STA - Opportunity CF
Notice Description
The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has the following Opportunity: The Authority intends to hold a Capability Concept Demonstrator (CCD) for Handheld Surveillance and Target Acquisition (STA) capabilities. The CCD event is provisionally planned for w/c 20 March 2023 The Authority invites industry with potential products to demonstrate their equipment at the above CCD trial. The aim of the CCD is to inform requirements capture for User and System Requirements Documents and to inform future Army Balance of Investment (BOI) decisions for future Dismounted Close Combat (DCC) capability. Those companies wishing to demonstrate their products for this event should register their interest and provide the requested information through this Dynamic Pre-Qualification Questionnaire. All STA products to be demonstrated must meet the following technical requirements: 1. The ability to detect a human target in low and zero light at a minimum range of 1km. 2. Should be a small, lightweight handheld device, that is stowable in a pocket/ammo pouch. 3. Additional functionality will be considered such as an integrated laser range finder, the ability to connect to a Battle Management system The Infantry Trials and Development Unit, Warminster will be responsible for managing and conducting the CCD - further details on the trials will be available closer to the date. Companies who register their interest to demonstrate their products shall be allocated a time slot (subject to agreement with ITDU trials officer) to attend in person with their products to demonstrate them to the Authority. The Authority cannot guarantee that all products will be seen. Note: This demonstration is for information and data gathering by the Authority and for industry to demonstrate their products. It is not a commitment to any future procurement.
