Notice Title

19 118 Soft Market Testing - Extra Care Housing For Those With Complex Needs - Mountview, Congleton

Notice Description

Cheshire East Council's ("the Council") have identified a need to explore alternative housing options for some of our most vulnerable residents. The Vulnerable and Older Persons Housing Strategy 2014, outlined the housing needs for a number of client groups including Adults with Learning Disabilities. The strategy sets out a requirement to promote greater independence and accommodation choice and ensuring that those with a learning disability have a wide range of housing options and support services to accommodate a diverse spectrum of need. The consultation which took place when developing the strategy highlighted that the supported accommodation in a sheltered-style, extra care model emerged strongly as the ideal accommodation type for people with a learning disability. This type of provision provides access to their own front door as well as access to shared areas to promote social inclusion, where activities can be accessed. The Council wishes to consult with organisations that have relevant experience in the delivery, development and management of Extra Care type provision. Mountview, a former Care home in Congleton has been identified as surplus and prior to making a decision on disposal, the Council would like to establish if the redevelopment of the scheme is a viable option for consideration. The purpose therefore of the consultation is to seek the views of market participants, which will help the Council in formulating options to deliver a suitable housing solution. Suitably experienced organisations that have a proven track record in relation to the development and management of social housing are requested to participate in this market consultation - a background document and the questionnaire will be available on The Chest e-tendering portal at: www.the-chest.org.uk - Project ID DN427964. Completed questionnaires should be returned via the Chest messaging section as and when completed - deadline for last submissions 12:00 noon;13.09.2019. The Council makes no guarantees that this notice will be followed with a Contract Notice or tender.
