Summary of the contracting process

Leidos Supply Limited procured the supply of safety footwear, specifically anti-static footwear, for use within its logistics commodities and services transformation delivery arrangements on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence. This is a goods procurement covering clothing and footwear products, classified under CPV 18000000. Delivery may be required across the United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories, the Channel Islands, Europe, the Isle of Man and other parts of the world. The requirement is identified as Lot 3 of the wider procurement. It is relevant to manufacturers, importers, distributors and specialist suppliers of protective or occupational footwear able to support military logistics supply requirements across a broad delivery geography.

The procurement is complete and the contract was awarded to Iturri on 17 August 2026. The award value is £2,100,000. The contract runs from 30 June 2026 to 29 June 2030. It followed an open procedure above the applicable threshold, with tender submissions due by 21 November 2024 at 12:00 UTC. The requirement was advertised as Lot 3, Supply of Safety Footwear, and the award covered anti-static safety footwear. Leidos Supply Limited is the buyer. The opportunity was identified as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. Iturri is the selected supplier, and the award is active.

This award demonstrates established demand from Leidos Supply Limited for anti-static safety footwear supporting Ministry of Defence logistics. A credible future competitor would need to supply safety footwear consistently at a substantial, multi-year scale, meet the technical requirements for anti-static protection, and manage distribution across the United Kingdom and a wide international delivery footprint. Manufacturers and specialist distributors with dependable sourcing, quality control, stock planning and fulfilment arrangements are likely to be well placed. Smaller businesses are expressly considered suitable for this requirement, so an SME with the necessary product capability and operational capacity could compete, either directly or through a supply partnership. Experience serving defence, government or other demanding occupational-footwear customers would strengthen credibility.
