Summary of the contracting process

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is seeking a supplier for a custom mobile pumping station with integrated leak detection, focusing on laboratory, optical, and precision equipment. The procurement method is a limited competitive quotation process, which is characterised as being below the threshold for full tendering. The contract was awarded on 25th November 2020, with a total contract value of £67,519. The contract period commences from 14th December 2020 and runs until 14th December 2021. The delivery location for this contract is in Teddington, London, UK.

This tender presents a notable opportunity for businesses involved in the manufacture or supply of specialised laboratory equipment, particularly those with expertise in cryogenic systems. Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) should consider this contract, as it is designed to accommodate their participation. Companies that can deliver a fully mobile pumping station that meets the specified technical requirements will be well-positioned to compete effectively for similar contracts in the future.
