Summary of the contracting process

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking to improve housing accessibility through their recent award titled "The Provision of Major Adaptations and Housing Assistance Works". This initiative falls within the building construction industry and is centred in Dudley, West Midlands. The procurement approach taken was an open procedure, and the contracts will span a period from 29 January 2018 to 28 January 2020. The contract consists of fifteen separate lots, each dedicated to delivering significant adaptations valued at up to £45,000 per scheme, with a total project value not exceeding £3.65 million.

This procurement provides substantial opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in building construction, adaptive devices for the elderly and disabled, and related services. Enterprises with experience in managing housing assistance works, especially those with solid local supply chains, will be well-positioned to submit competitive tenders. Moreover, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find advantageous pathways to engage in contracts, ultimately contributing to both their business development and the community's welfare.
