Seeking expressions of interest - Conservation repairs to unsafe memorials at Bunhill Fields Burial Ground
Notice Description
The City of London Corporation (the City) in the new year will be advertising a contract opportunity for the provision of Conservation Repairs and Maintenance to Unsafe Memorials at Bunhill Fields Burial Grounds. Bunhill Fields Burial Ground was the first Nonconformist burial ground in the British Isles. It opened for burials in 1665 and was closed in 1854, by which time approximately 123,000 had been buried at Bunhill. Bunhill Fields has been managed as a public open space by the City since 1867. The Burial ground is Grade I-listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens and lies within a Conservation Area. The duration of the contract is expected to be three (3) years, with the option to extend by up to a further two (2) years. The maximum length of the contract will therefore be five (5) years. The service will comprise both consolidation and conservation works to unsafe memorials within the historic site. Works will initially be scheduled to take place over 3 years, from 2019 to 2022, and will be programmed in order of urgency based on recommendations from a safety inspection report. The opportunity will be published via the councils e-tendering portal, CapitalEsourcing (www.capitalesourcing.com) and is expected to go live at the end of January / early February, for four weeks. Suppliers must be registered with the portal to access the documentation. To register your interest, please first sign up to the portal and then email Alex Mauger at Alex.Mauger@cityoflondon.gov.uk once complete. Additional information: https://www.capitalesourcing.com/
