CS20472 - UK Research and Innovation : Echosounder Equipped Autonomous Surface Vehicle
Notice Description
The final date and time for the submission of bids is Monday 7th December 2020 at 11:00hrs GMT DO NOT apply directly to the buyer. The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) undertakes a number of sustained oceanographic and ecosystem observational programmes in the Southern Ocean. These require a number of different types of autonomous vehicle, optimised for data collection to particular tasks. One task is the capability to make routine year-round acoustic surveys of epipelagic (surface 200m) biota to compliment sustained observations of the Antarctic ecosystem at South Georgia, as well as target ecosystem processes in ocean carbon storage. To fulfil this need BAS requires an autonomous surface vehicle (ASV), equipped with environmental sensors and a wideband scientific echosounder capable of detecting zooplankton from the surface to a depth of 200m. This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the ITQ document. Interested organisations should ensure that they allow a suffiency of time, prior to the deadline to allow all sections to be completed in full and any attachments to be uploaded.
