Summary of the contracting process

Nottinghamshire County Council is currently seeking tenders for the "Appropriate Adults Service", aimed at providing vital support to children and young people aged 10 to 17 who are detained in police custody within Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City. This service is essential when a parent or guardian is unavailable or unable to assist the detained individual. The procurement method is an open procedure, and interested parties have until 25 March 2019 to submit their bids. The contract will commence on 1 June 2019, spanning three years, with an additional option for a two-year extension. The total value of the contract is £160,000, classified under social work and related services within the industry category.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that can provide specialised services supporting vulnerable children and youth. Given the nature of the service, companies with expertise in social work, youth services, or those experienced in working alongside law enforcement will find this procurement especially relevant. By participating in this tender, businesses can contribute to community welfare while potentially enhancing their service portfolios and establishing a long-term partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council.
