Notice Description

NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of the Southern Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group, acting as lead Commissioner for the Derbyshire Clinical commissioning Groups which include (North Derbyshire CCG, Hardwick CCG and Erewash) are inviting Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified providers capable of delivering Extend Access GP services for patients registered with a Derbyshire GP. The General Practice Forward View (GPFV), published in 2016 set out to transform primary care services through to 2020. One of the key drivers within the GPFV is to provide more convenient access to primary care at evenings and weekends. By 1st October 2018 the Mandate requires that 100% of the country will benefit from extended access to GP appointments at evenings and weekends (including Bank Holidays). Services will cover All patients registered with a Derbyshire GP (weighted list size total at October 2017 1.1m) The aims, objectives and vision of the service is to provide access to core primary care services from Place based clinical hubs providing pre-bookable and same day appointments at evenings and weekends (including bank holidays) for patients registered with a Derbyshire GP. A minimum additional 30 minutes consultation capacity per 1000 population per week., Evening access, Monday to Friday a minimum of 1.5 hours per night (5 evenings) 6.30-8pm, Weekend access, Saturday and Sunday (minimum of 3 hours per day) and Bank Holidays a minimum of 1.5 hours per day at a reasonable time. There must be a mixture of pre-bookable and on the day appointments (average of 15 minute appointments) As a minimum the clinical hub model must be led by either a GP or ANP/ACP with access to a GP when required by the service or patients. Please note that this expression of interest has been designed to allow the market visibility of any proposed future opportunity regarding these services and support early engagement and networking between providers looking to contract or form partnerships with other providers (as required). The aim of the expression of interest exercise is to: 1. To gauge the level of interest from the market of capable providers with capacity across Derbyshire to deliver the services illustrated in this opportunity 2. Support the Commissioners informed decision making on the potential options on the future commissioning of these services and; 3. To help refine the commissioning and procurement approach going forward (as required) This is a market testing exercise and does not commit the CCG to carry out a procurementprocess. Current services have been developed using a 'proof of concept' and will remain in place during this period in line with existing contracts and service level agreements. Additional information: Bidders who have expressed an interest in this market testing exercise will have the opportunity to submit a separate response to the Contract Notice as applicable. An engagement event may take place at a later date to offer the market an overview of any future intentions across Derbyshire in terms of any future opportunities and is designed to facilitate networking opportunities between all interested parties.
