Summary of the contracting process

The University of Warwick is currently in the tendering process for the "Benugo Bar & Kitchen Project," aimed at fitting out concession areas within the newly refurbished Warwick Arts Centre located in Coventry, West Midlands, CV4 7AL. The procurement method being employed is a selective, restricted procedure which requires potential bidders to meet specific qualifications. The tender period closes on 14th April 2021, and the contract is expected to commence on 1st June 2021, running until 10th September 2021. This project falls under the industry categories of restaurant construction work, with a focus on creating a vibrant bar and dining experience aligned with the centre's status as a multi-art form venue in the UK.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for experienced shop fitting contractors looking to grow their business within the leisure and hospitality sector. Companies capable of delivering comprehensive construction services, including partitioning, electrical installations, and kitchen fit-outs, would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Given the project's emphasis on environmentally sustainable practices and accessibility, contractors who can demonstrate a commitment to these values may find themselves at an advantage in the bidding process.

Benugo Bar & Kitchen Project

Notice Description

The University of Warwick are tendering to appoint a contractor, under a Design & Build Contract (JCT D&B 2016 with University of Warwick amendments), based on RIBA Stage 3 designs, to provide the wide range of skills and disciplines required to fit-out the concession areas. Following a tender process, the University of Warwick has appointed Benugo Ltd as the preferred concession partner, subject to contract, to operate a Premium High Street (recognised) Bar and Dining area and Theatre Bar Concept from our newly refurbished, expanded and radically transformed Warwick Arts Centre. Located in the very heart of our vibrant campus, Warwick Arts Centre is already one of the largest multi-art form venues in the UK, delivering a high quality, engaging, diverse programme of performing and visual arts. The redeveloped building will be fully accessible, environmentally sustainable and a hub for international class digital art, exhibitions and performances; including three state-of-the-art HD digital cinemas, a large ground floor gallery to exhibit some of the very best contemporary art, sculpture and photography. Tenders will be invited from appropriately experienced and qualified shop fitting contractors; to execute the works which will include (but not limited to) the construction of new partitions, ceilings, walls, and floor finishes, decorations, mechanical and electrical services, fabrication of bar serveries, backfittings, gantries and kitchen preparation areas, provision of catering equipment, furniture, fixtures and fittings including signage, etc. Also in-scope of area fit-out but not necessarily of this procurement exercise, will be the provision of associated products and items of equipment which will include (but not limited to) pizza ovens, catering equipment, light fittings, tills, artwork and graphics. The supply, delivery and installation of such will need to be programmed and coordinated as part of the shopfitting contractor works. This project will require the successful contractor to be working in a live and busy environment populated by staff, students and the general public.
