Summary of the contracting process

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has successfully completed a tender process for a project titled "Human rights audiences and messaging". This initiative falls under the social research services industry category and aims to research public attitudes towards human rights in Great Britain. The tender assessment period concluded on 6th September 2017, and the contract, valued at £48,240, commenced on 9th October 2017, with an expected end date of 18th December 2017. The procurement method employed was selective, involving a call-off from an existing framework agreement, indicating a structured approach to sourcing services effectively.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in social research, consultancy, and related services aiming to influence public perspectives on important issues like human rights. Companies that can deliver qualitative and quantitative research solutions, particularly those with expertise in demographic profiling and messaging analysis, would be well-positioned to compete for similar future contracts. Furthermore, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, enabling them to contribute valuable insights and innovative methodologies in this critical area.

Notice Title

Human rights audiences and messaging

Notice Description

Research project into attitudes towards human rights in Great Britain. The project includes: 1) A literature review of the existing evidence base on attitudes and messaging about human rights; 2) Quantitative research providing up-to-date segmentation of the population according to their attitudes towards human rights. This segmentation should take into account both traditional demographic profiles, and provide insight into different attitudes and values. 3) Qualitative analysis of the impact of different messages in persuading those who are 'conflicted' to feel more positively about human rights. There should also be an assessment of which specific elements of these messages have the greatest impact in making respondents feel more favourably towards human rights, and behavioural insights into what would motivate different groups to take action to support human rights.
