Summary of the contracting process

The Lithuanian Navy is currently seeking a contractor for the "M55 Regeneration Project," aimed at expanding its fleet through the procurement of a regenerated Hunt Class Mine Counter Measures Vessel (MCMV). The contracting authority for this tender is the Defence Equipment Sales Authority (DESA), part of the Ministry of Defence, located in Bristol, UK. The procurement is at the tender stage, with a deadline for submissions set for 24th July 2020. This selective procurement process, using a negotiated procedure, has a budget ranging between £40 million and £50 million and falls within the classification of repair and maintenance services of security and defence materials.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in naval defence and maintenance, particularly those with expertise in vessel regeneration and sonar systems. Companies that specialise in military equipment repair, maintenance services, and those experienced in working with defence organisations would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. The successful bidder will be responsible for delivering the regenerated vessel to an operational state aligned with the Lithuanian Navy's existing capabilities, thus opening up avenues for partnerships and strategic growth in the defence sector.
