Summary of the contracting process

The Calderdale Council is currently conducting the Calderdale Adult Learning Fund procurement process, focused on providing accredited and non-accredited community-based learning for adults in Calderdale. The council aims to support those furthest from learning and employment with a total budget of £200,000. Bidders were allowed to submit tenders for this fund, capped at £10,000 per course, with a maximum total bid of £50,000. The tender notice was published on 22nd June 2018, and the submission deadline was 26th July 2018. The contract period is from 3rd September 2018 to 2nd September 2019, and the procurement was conducted via an open procedure in the education and training services industry category, specifically located in the Yorkshire and the Humber region.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in education and training services, particularly those offering community-based learning programmes. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) would be particularly well-suited to compete, given the accessibility of the bidding process and the focus on supporting local communities. Winning a contract in this area could enhance a business's portfolio, increase community engagement, and contribute to broader social goals, making it an attractive opportunity for organisations dedicated to impactful learning outcomes.
