Summary of the contracting process

Plymouth City Council is initiating a tender process for the "Ocean City Music Festival Prior Information Notice," aimed at establishing a high-profile ticketed music event set to commence in 2018. This project aligns with the Council's vision to enhance Plymouth’s cultural landscape, particularly with the significant historical celebration in 2020 marking the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower's voyage to the United States. The procurement currently stands at the planning stage, with a deadline for interested suppliers to express their interest by 24th October 2017. The event is classified under festival organisation services and will take place in the South West region of the UK, with contract awards expected by January 2018.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in event organisation, particularly those with a background in collaborating with artists and managing major festivals. Companies that leverage strong connections with talent agencies and have experience in delivering high-quality events would be particularly well-suited to compete. The successful organisation will have the potential to build a brand that not only contributes to local culture but also gains national and international visibility through its association with landmark events in Plymouth over the next five years.
