Summary of the contracting process

The University of Sheffield is currently seeking bids for a Multi Photon Microscope as part of a tendering process initiated by the Department of Biomedical Science. This procurement falls under the category of goods, specifically classified as Microscopes (CPV code 38510000). The tender is at the planning stage, with submissions due by 14th September 2015 at 12 noon (UK time). The contract period is expected to commence on 1st October 2015 and conclude on 30th November 2015. Bidders are required to submit their tenders via the University’s e-tendering system in Sheffield, located in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for suppliers, particularly those specialising in scientific equipment and technology, to establish a partnership with a prestigious educational institution. Businesses focusing on modular and adaptable laboratory equipment would find this tender appealing, especially given the related tender for an Electrophysiology system. Suppliers are encouraged to demonstrate value through competitive pricing and additional discounts for bidders applying to both tenders. Entrepreneurs in the scientific and technical sectors should note the potential for collaboration and innovation in supporting the University’s research programme in sensory processing and learning & memory.
