Summary of the contracting process

The Victoria and Albert Museum is currently in the tender stage of procurement for a 320 kV X-radiography tube, essential for the investigation of varied objects from their collections. This procurement falls within the goods category and is classified under X-ray devices (CPV code: 33111000). Located in London, the tender period closes on 27 November 2020, with a total contract value estimated between £50,000 and £100,000. The successful supplier will also need to provide a one-year warranty and four additional years of preventative maintenance as part of their offer.

This opportunity presents significant potential for businesses in the medical and laboratory equipment sector, particularly those specialising in X-ray technology and related maintenance services. Companies with the capability to deliver a complete ‘turn-key’ solution that meets the V&A's specific requirements would find this tender particularly suited to their offerings. With the museum's stringent technical specifications and the concurrent tender processes for related items, businesses have a valuable opportunity to engage with a prestigious institution and grow within the public procurement landscape.
