Notice Title

Project Management and Delivery Resource to Support Academy Conversions in Bromley

Notice Description

The majority of state funded schools in Bromley Local Authority have academy status. A small number of schools (fourteen) are maintained by the Local Authority. It is the ambition of the Local Authority that all remaining maintained schools convert to academy status by September 2018. A small grant has been received from the Department of Education to facilitate the conversion of our remaining maintained schools. Bromley Local Authority is seeking a provider that can offer project management and delivery resource to work with Bromley maintained schools and council officers to support and facilitate the conversion of the remaining maintained Bromley schools to academy status. This will involve working in partnership with schools and council officers to identify suitable options for schools in considering academy conversion, in particular suitable links to existing or developing Multi Academy Trusts (MATs). The project will also proactively consider potential barriers to conversion (such as land, property and human resources issues) and work with schools and officers to resolve (as far as possible) any issues. The project will also consider the existing academy arrangements for academy schools in Bromley and work to support existing Stand Alone Academies (SATs) and small MATs to join larger, more robust, arrangements. Bromley Council are looking to work with a suitable educational services provider that can offer expertise and resource (e.g. a project officer or officers) to deliver this project. Suppliers will be required to provide references demonstrating successful provision of similar project resource in relation to the strategic development of the educational landscape in a region / sub-region, to be taken up at tender stage. DBS checks will be required as school visits will be involved. The project is expected to commence from 29th May 2017 and continue up to July 2018. The tender opportunity will be run through the London Tenders Procurement Portal and you will need to register your company with the portal as soon as possible (if you have not already done so) at www.londontenders.org to ensure that you are able to access and submit the relevant documents online. All applications MUST be made through the London Tenders Portal ONLY and NOT to the Contact Details contained within this notice.
