Notice Description

The purpose of this document is to describe the initial thoughts of Leicester City Council ("the Council") regarding the interventions that it can make to facilitate the deployment of full fibre in the city and improve provision to its housing stock. Leicester City Council recognises that better fibre infrastructure could unlock many socio-economic benefits for residents and businesses and support the development and growth of 5G networks. The Council's digital connectivity project is part of its Smart Leicester Strategy. Its overarching aim is to connect people and places - digitally, socially and sustainably. The Council's strategic objective is that by 2025 everyone should be able to access full fibre broadband and 5G mobile networks anywhere in the City.
