Notice Title

Invitation to tender for the provision of a Stem Cell Clinical and Laboratory IT System

Notice Description

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a Centre of Excellence for stem cell 1.8transplantation and has one of the largest stem cell transplant programmes in the UK with over 200 transplants performed annually. The Trust performs adult and paediatric, autologous and allogeneic, related and unrelated donor transplants. Additionally the Trust performs cord transplants using cells provided by external cord banks, and is looking to collect, store and issue cellular therapy products as part of clinical trials. The current IT provision is a home-grown system that has been in use for over 20 years and was written before the emergence of licensing by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and accreditation by the Joint Accreditation Committee (JACIE). The Trust requires a stem cell transplant programme IT system capable of supporting clinical, laboratory, quality, managerial and administrative activities in a hospital environment. The system must offer full traceability from booking cell collection, apheresis or bone marrow collection, through sampling, processing, cryopreservation, storage and issue or disposal. The system must be compliant with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and show how this will be maintained in the future.
