Cambridge City Council - Refugee Resettlement - furnishing procurement

Notice Description

Supply, deliver and install furniture, white goods and ancillary items, in residential homes in compliance with the requirements of the Home Office - Syrian Vulnerable People and Vulnerable Children Relocation Schemes. You will be required to supply against an inventory which includes all basic furniture, white goods, soft furnishing including curtains and blinds, crockery and kitchen utensils for an average family occupying a 2, 3 or 4 bedroom home. You will need to deliver the goods on agreed dates, install goods such as cookers, washing machines and fridges and place items in relevant rooms as indicated at the point of ordering. Gas appliances must be installed by a registered Gas Safe trades person and Gas Safe certificates must be issued at the time of installation. A qualified plumber must be used for the installation of washing machines and similarly any installed electrical goods must be done by a qualified electrician. You will be required to hang curtains/blinds as required. The goods need to be of a standard that meets British health and safety requirements and be suitable for families with young children. You will need to be able to deal with turnaround times of approximately 1 week between the placing of the order and delivery of the goods.
