Notice Description

The scheme involves major maintenance to the 60m long twin span Harrington Bridge which carries the B6540 over the major River Trent just south of Sawley Derbyshire. In brief the works include carriageway resurfacing, replacement of expansion joints, maintenance painting to the bridge elements, steelwork repairs / replacement to the bridge and central pier, installing a reinforced concrete leaf at the central pier, diving inspections and design of permanent structural elements (structural tie to the central pier). The works will include the Contractor to design both permanent and temporary works above and below the waterline. The Contractor is required to have specialist knowledge of working within an open river environment.
