Notice Description

The Institute for Continuous Improvement (ICiPS) invites tenders from for the organisation of the 2020 Annual Conference, with an option to also deliver the 2021 conference. The annual conference is vitally important to ICiPS. It is a celebration of the breadth and diversity of continuous improvement, with speakers and participants, from public, private and voluntary sectors, sharing ideas and insight that help to shape the future of the discipline. We welcome around 160 delegates from across the UK, who are continuous improvement practitioners looking to develop their understanding of practical steps they can take to embed continuous improvement. The venue could be anywhere in the UK but must provide the maximum opportunity for delegates across the country to attend. Our conferences meet the varied interests of our members, attracting speakers who challenge the norm and providing stimulating workshop options. Our mantra is that delegates will leave with new knowledge, expanded thinking, new contacts and something that has practical value in their workplace. The 2020 conference will explore the potential for 'bridging the gap' between academic theory and practice. It will engage with important questions about the role and value of continuous improvement during a time where pressures on budgets compete with increased expectations; provide meaningful reflections on engaging people at all levels in continuous improvement, and examine how the continuous improvemen...4 or 21 May; 4,11,18 June 2020 5.Indicate who would be the conference co-chair. 6.Outline an agenda for the day and potential speakers. 7.Indicate how the event will be marketed and an indication of predicted numbers of delegates. 8.Indicate any thoughts on attracting exhibitors. 9.Outline possible sponsorship. 10.Outline the support you expect from the Institute. 11.Outline a risk management plan. 12.Present your proposal for a risk and reward model of delivery. 13.Confirm that you will indemnify the Institute against any financial losses arising from the organisation and delivery of the event. As a registered charity, ICiPS has a duty to advance public education and to facilitate the widest possible dissemination of knowledge. With this in mind, tenders should also offer an exploratory outline of proposals for recording or podcasting parts of the conference or otherwise making aspects of it available online whilst treading the fine line between charitable duty and the commercial need to ensure that the delegate experience is not replicated in its entirety. After an initial short- listing process one or more institutions or venues will be visited and viewed. Following the visit, the Institute will then reach a final decision. For more information about hosting, please contact debbie@icips.org. We would be very happy to have an initial, informal chat. Applications should be submitted to debbie@icips.org before midnight on 31 August 2019. www.icips.org
