TD1461 - For the provision of Burial/Cremation and Ancillary Services for Funerals carried out under the provisions of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984
Notice Description
The Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 Section 46 (1) places a statutory duty upon local authorities to make funeral arrangements for anyone who has died in their area where no suitable arrangements have been made for the funeral of the deceased. This occurs where there are no relatives or friends who are able or willing to make such arrangements. Derby City Council intends to invite suitable organisations to tender for the contract to make funeral arrangements for anyone who has died in the Derby City Council area where no suitable arrangements have been made for the funeral of the deceased. The tender specifically excludes funeral arrangements for persons who have died in hospital as these arrangements are administered by the NHS. This initial contract is for 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years in annual increments. The contract value is based on the full 5 years. Please note, suppliers wishing to express interest and obtain the documentation, must do so by 15:00 on 25 June 2019. It is recommended that you express interest and obtain the documentation well before this time to allow sufficient time to prepare and submit a comprehensive response. The deadline for returns is 14:00 on 26th June 2019. Please visit the Council's e-tendering system https://www.eastmidstenders.org where you can express interest and obtain the documents, (please note we will only accept expressions of interest through the e-tendering system.
