Notice Description

Newham Libraries are looking for a supplier who would provide materials for a summer reading scheme across 10 libraries. It would run from June to September each year and would have around 40,000 children taking part. Physical resources should include: * a joining leaflet / pamphlet to track progress with the challenge. * Rewards such as stickers * a variety of incentives to encourage children to keep reading. * At the end there would be a medal and a certificate. * A range of marketing materials including posters in different sizes, banners, pull-ups * Accessories including t-shirts and lanyards for young volunteers. * Resources also available in languages other than English * Downloadable supporting documentation - activities, presentations, instructions, template letters * Evaluation of the scheme * Website for online participation with gamification and book recommendations * A linked winter reading scheme Age appropriate There should be two versions of the scheme - the regular scheme for all children over 4 and a simplified scheme for younger children. Design The scheme would have a change of theme each year and would be illustrated by established children's illustrators. Any illustrated characters must be representative of children who are taking part in the challenge. Marketing and Experience We would be especially interested in suppliers who have experience of marketing in television, radio and social media and will run a media marketing campaign including, but not restricted to, press releases and adverts. Celebratory ambassadors who would encourage children to read. We are looking for a supplier who has more than 5 years' experience of running a scheme like this. Evaluation Experience of evaluating the reading scheme with experience of wider research into the benefits of children reading over the summer. Dates All materials should be delivered in early May 2025. The opportunity is open to any provider with relevant experience and able to meet all the requirements above.
