Notice Description

NOTIFICATION OF SUBCONTRACT PACKAGE A47 Tuddenham to Easton Dualling Galliford Try, as the East Region Delivery Partner are delivering the A47 Tuddenham to Easton Dualling project in the county of Norfolk on behalf of Highways England. The project will complete the dual carriageway between Norwich and Dereham, supporting economic growth and easing congestion in the area. The project has recently submitted a Development Consent Order to the Planning Inspectorate and the project is forecast to commence on site in early 2024 and will take around 2 years to complete. Package: Archaeological Clerk of Works Outline Scope of Works To provide all necessary supervision/monitoring to the construction site to identify potential remains or artifacts. The ECoW will need to be based in Norwich or surrounding areas during the progress of the works. Some of the tasks that may be required from an ACoW are as following: Advising on how to avoid damaging or disturbing archaeological features. Supervising the excavation and recording of any archaeological remains that are uncovered during construction. Keeping accurate records of all archaeological work carried out on site, including plans, photographs, and written reports. Liaising with local authorities, heritage bodies, and archaeological consultants to ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines and to plan how the archaeological investigations are to be carried out. Conducting site inspections and audits to ensure that work is being carried out in compliance with relevant legislation, HWSI and guidelines. Programme It is currently anticipated that the ECoW works will commence in June 2023 until December 2023.
