Notice Title
Soft Market Testing for the Delivery of Bristol Run Events
Notice Description
Bristol City Council is undertaking a soft market testing exercise to re-tender the delivery of the Run Bristol events; the Bristol 10k and the Bristol Half Marathon. These are established, mass participation running events that have been delivered for a number of years - initially by an in-house team and since 2015, by an external operator. We need to work with an experienced sports event management company who would be able to deliver all aspects of event planning and delivery, staffing, registration, financial management, marketing & promotion. Full details of the operator's role and responsibilities would be included in the tender documents at a later date. Following the impact of the Covid pandemic on the events industry, the Council is investigating the market for re-tendering these events. Our key objectives in this exercise are to understand how confident operators are to commit to a contract with us and whether there is opportunity to re-build these events following the pandemic. For the avoidance of doubt, this notice is for the purpose of conducting a soft market testing exercise, and will not formally begin the procurement or constitute any commitment by Bristol City Council ("BCC") to undertake any procurement exercise. The council is utilising the ProContract e-Tendering System to manage this process and communicate with bidders.
