Notice Description
Within NHS Digital the role of the Platforms Directorate is to connect and deliver resilient national infrastructure, platforms, and applications to ensure health and care is sustainably delivered in a digital world. This means designing and building integrated and interoperable platforms, leveraging open standards and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and stimulating competition and innovation. The Demographics estate supports NHS patients by: - Maintaining an individual's NHS number, - Maintaining an individual's GP registration, and - Making personal demographics and contact data accessible to direct healthcare organisations. - The estate is underpinned by the 'Personal Demographics Service'. The Buyer's aim is to supply its consumers with quality data that is easy to find, use and understand. The Buyer will deliver the following strategic outcomes: - Increased productivity (focus on clinical admin time saving) Improved access to GP services for citizens (focus on GP registration) - Increased safety in patient care - Reduced wasted resources, improvement timeliness, and more efficiency in communications (including digital channels) - Care and communication recognises a person's ethnicity. - Increased access to healthcare for groups such as the homeless - Improved ability to support communities through more inclusive data analytics.
