Notice Description

Birmingham City Council (the Council) is undertaking consultation with leisure providers or developers for the construction, delivery, maintenance and management of a new community sports facility located on the former Hardy Spicer Sports Ground, land between Signal Hayes Road, and Weaver Avenue, Walmley, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, B76 2QA ( site plan attached). The proposal is for a Design, Build, Operate and Maintain (DBOM) contract to be tendered. The key requirements for the proposed facility is to be financially self-sufficient with a playing pitch, gym, multipurpose fitness studios/community rooms, cafe, small sports hall (to facilitate a basketball court) and changing rooms with toilets and sufficient off street parking to support the facility. This is an opportunity for potential tenderers to: * Learn more about the Council's aspirations for the facility. * Input in to how best to deliver this opportunity including an assessment of the feasibility for the project taking into account current market conditions. * Discuss potential cost structures and timescales. . The market engagement event will take place on 20th October 2021, at 14:00 via Microsoft Teams.
