Summary of the contracting process

Cambridge City Council is inviting bids for building cleaning services across five lots: general administration and commercial buildings, public toilets, communal areas in City Homes, multi-storey car parks, and window cleaning. Cambridge City Council - Building Cleaning

Notice Description

Cambridge City Council (The Council) is calling for bids to fulfill its building cleaning services for the city across three core lots and two additional specialist cleaning contract lots, resulting in the following five lot structure as follows: * Lot 1: Administration, commercial buildings, community centres and operational buildings * Lot 2: Public toilets * Lot 3: City Homes communal areas and sheltered housing schemes * Lot 4: Multi-storey car parks * Lot 5: Window cleaning Suppliers are invited to bid for one or more of the five lots, in any combination. Please note the current arrangement is with a single supplier and as such the exact nature of the TUPE requirements and who transfer to whom will not be known until the selection process is complete and the number of successful tenderers has been identified. A contract term is initially 3 years, with an option to extend by 2 years then up to 2 further years, if the supplier is performing satisfactorily, and the service can be shown to continue to provide best value to the Council; this gives a maximum possible contract length of 7 years. Assessment - price: quality tender assessment split of 40% price: 60% quality The current contract is due to end on the 19th June 2020 and it is anticipated that the start date of the new contract will be begin on the current contract end date (20th June 2020).
