Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Merseyside Police - Procurement Department, seeking contractors for a "Minor Works Framework" focusing on construction-related projects within the law enforcement sector. The procurement is currently in the awarded stage, with a total contract value of £7,500,000 and a minimum value of £4,000,000. The project consists of multiple lots including building, mechanical, and electrical works, and targets interested suppliers located in the North West of England. The contract commenced on 1st June 2022 and is set to run until 31st March 2027, following a selective procurement method which utilised a restricted procedure.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those involved in construction, electrical, and mechanical engineering services. Companies specialising in minor refurbishment works and those capable of managing projects from procurement to execution would be particularly suited to compete. Given the scale of the contract and the involvement of various suppliers, SMEs in the construction sector may find a valuable niche in partnering or subcontracting for individual project components as part of a larger consortium.
