Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the Luxulyan Valley Project (Treffrey Viaduct) is being led by Cornwall Council, with a total estimated budget of £2,500,000. This project falls within the construction industry, specifically related to the construction of bridges and aqueducts. The tender is currently in the planning stage, and interested parties are invited to an Open Day on 18 September 2017 in Luxulyan, where they can engage with the project team. Potential bidders must confirm their attendance by 11 September 2017 and provide their contact information to receive further details.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in construction, particularly those with experience in heritage conservation and infrastructure projects. Contractors specialising in bridge and aqueduct construction, as well as those capable of undertaking associated repair works, would be well-suited to compete. The concurrent tendering process allows companies to submit bids for both the viaduct and associated leat repairs, enhancing potential workload and revenue for successful bidders in this project linked to the internationally recognised Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.
